ISPCA Launches Celebrity Christmas Card Campaign

The ISPCA (The Irish Society of Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) is to launch a Celebrity Christmas Card Campaign featuring well-known Irish men and women and their pets.

Every year in Ireland, a large number of pets are bought as Christmas presents and then abandoned a few days or weeks later, when people realise the amount of care and attention they need.The series of Christmas cards feature well-known Irish men and women and their pets, including TV3 weatherman John Murphy and his golden retriever Rex and newsreader Anne Foyle and her Persian cat; whom all gave their services for free.

Sharon Owen, spokesperson for the ISPCA disclosed: “The Christmas card market is a very big competitive one but we’re confident our cards will sell. We’ve chosen celebrities who people can relate to and we’re hoping to attract the attention of animal-lovers across the country”.

The cards cost €5 for a pack and they will be available in all major retail stores from Saturday 24th November.

Got tickets to chris brown just there..my wonderful mammy got me,jane and my sister tickets!! YAY!! We're goin to see the beautiful man in real life..it's in January so not that long to wait!! I'm very excited..me and jane will be wreckin heads now till January singing his songs..he has loads of good ones so I'd say it will be a class concert..and hes such a good dancer and all...I wonder if he'll have anyone good supporting him..he was supposed to be touring with Rhianna but I doubt that...excitement!!:)

search engine marketing...

By doing this topic I learned that when you search on google or whatever search engine you use..you get 2 types of results. One is paid for and the other is organic. The organic ones are the results that you see on the screen,like the first 10 sites that come up. Then the paid for ones are the ones that say sponsored links and they are paid by the site to be on the first page of google. I thought it was mad that the sites pay by click..I don't think anyone would be bothered but like there could be the risk of someone that just keeps clicking! Thats the bad thing about it but like its possibly worth it to be on the first page..cos it seems hard to actually get on the first page by your own means. The other thing is that people are 80% less likely to click on these paid for ones..like I know I only do the odd time. So its kindve good to just get on the first page yourself if you can.

Sat Nav lady!!

I think I have to accept the fact that my sat nav isn't always right. Like today on the motorway she was sending me all over the place..luckily I had a bit of sense not to listen! Other people do not have as much sense..I read about a 53-year-old German who was obeying his sat nav’s command “Turn right now!” so turned the wheel over and crashed into a roadside toilet hut 30 metres before the crossing he was meant to take and caused 2,000 euro damage. What a bright spark!! Anyway every relationship has problems so I'm sure me and my sat nav will work it out and I hopefully won't go crashing into any toilets!!

Ok gonna be random cos I have nothing really interesting to talk about..so thought I'd take this opportunity to have a rant! I hate Katy Perry!! Nah hates a strong word...I dislike Katy Perry! Yeah I'm crazily (is that a word?!) jealous of her..but thats not the only reason! Ok firstly anyone wouldn't like the girl that stole her future husband..tear:( I love Travis McCoy..I know I sound like a physco stalkin freak but hey we all like honesty!! For any of you strange people that don't know who he is,he's the lead singer of my favourite band - Gym Class Heroes. Saw them a few weeks back they're amazing!! Anyway yeah Katy Perry and Travis McCoy are together..aw it hurts!! And really shes not so cool..her song "Ur so Gay" really hurt gay men in America. With lines like "I hope you hang yourself with your H&M scarf While jacking off listening to Mozart" is offensive..to be honest I don't think she is homophobic..like she did kiss a girl and like it..but I just think that she makes that stereotype stronger that two girls is "hot" but two fellas is "disgusting". Well I'm probly just trying to find something wrong with her..cos I have to admit shes pretty perfect!!

Internet sex industry

Ok kindve a weird topic! Anyway didn't really have much to say on the topic so had to actually look it up..its all very graphic!! Was pretty shocked to find out how important the sex industry is to the internet..like about ten years ago 69% of total internet sales was spent on what they call "adult content". So its a pretty huge part of the net. But this huge money cant be worth the exploitation of a lot of the women and children that are forced into appearing on these sites. Like most women that feature in porn don't want that job..and child porn is even worse obviously. The whole thing is really sad I think. Apart from the people that are affected by being in these videos,its also bad on the people that watch them. Theres nothing to stop any body of any age watching this stuff. Children can watch what they shouldn't see..and paedophiles can watch what they shouldn't be able to see as well. So yeah my opinion is that there is more bad than good from this industry and it really needs to have some stricter regulations!

Virtual Communities...

In class we've been learning about virtual communities..before this all I knew was bebo,facebook,myspace etc.,just some social networking sites. But now I learned of lots of different virtual communities for brands and shops,and sites like second life. I hadn't heard of second life before class..but then the other day I read about this woman who was divorcing her husband after she discovered his character in the online community had been having an affair. The couple actually had a virtual wedding along with their real wedding. However, his wife came into the room one day to see that her husbands virtual character was "cuddling" another woman. She demanded to see the chat history but he deleted it and she has now filed for divorce. Although he has never done anything in real life she is furious about his online cheating. Not weird at all!!

It's sooooo rainy:( very annoyin that i had to get out of bed and drive to dundalk for one class..the road was all flooded..and since the class is at 12 there was obviously no parking so had to park in rockfield and walk over in the rain..was wearin them 5euro pennys runners so was basically walkin over in my socks..not happy!! I'm over it now though because I'm home and nice and warm!:) but I'm bored so thought I'd go and blog..I'm so cool!!

Don't have anything exciting to talk about really...me and jane started Fitness Pole Dancing last night..it's really good..:)

Went to a skydive meeting yesterday, me Jane and Ciara are doing one soon to raise money for the Tracey Lee Appeal Fund..shes in our college so it's a brilliant cause...Tracy has cerebral palsy and is fully dependent on a wheelchair.. for Tracy to ever have hope of walking she needs to receive the best treatment available for her specific condition and this treatment is only available at the Peto Institute, in Budapest,Hungary..this clinic has worked with Tracy before and has said if she can spend up to one year at their clinic she has a 95% chance of walking!so I think everyone should either sponsor one of us:)..or go and do a skydive yourself..I'm goin to be so scared going up in the plane but I'm sure it's class when you do it..another cool thing is one of the lads speaking at the meeting Mark is blind and he is going to set a world record for the most skydives done in a day..

Ok the only other thing I can think of to talk about is that I'm giving up smoking..8euro theyve gone up to so its madness..no more yucky habit for me!:)
